A custom entertainment center and
bookshelf
This client wanted space for a new flat panel TV and the associated
equiment for an entertainment center on one wall and room for a stereo
on the adjacent wall. At the same time they wanted plent of space
for their many books.
We played with the design and angled both the base units
and the corner display shelving to make the units transition nicely
into the room. This avoided having stark, box-like edges adjacent
to the doorway opening.

The left hand unit will hold the flat screen
TV and associated electronics with no wiring showing. The
two drawers are sized to hold DVDs or VCR tapes. We set
the heigh of the unit such that it "breaks" the visual line between
the top of the door and the window on the right. We custom
made all molding and trim for these units.

The right side unit had to be made to accomodate the opening
of the grill for the air return and to hold the stereo and speakers,
again with minimal wiring showing.
The full backs of both units were painted the same color
as the walls to soften the look of the units.
